Our Mission & Vision

The Mother Esther students say it best and loudest: “Education: my choice, my right

We believe in girls. We believe in their strength and resilience.
We believe girls will make their communities better, safer, and healthier if they are given the tools to thrive.
We believe every human being is a child of God, and God’s intention for each person is wholeness.
We believe in bringing God’s vision of wholeness to life by working with girls for healing, education and empowerment.

Who We Are

Reverend Charles Maina

Founder and School Patron

Reverend Maina has served as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church of East Africa for more than twenty years. He has spent his life building and growing churches in rural mission areas which brings him abundant joy. He believes in a holistic gospel which means that God has called the church through Jesus to meet people wherever they are. He believes the preaching of the gospel takes place through the work of our hands in building schools, sustainable water projects, and empowerment programs that enable people to become who God intends them to be.

Noel Sakaya

School Administrator and Matron

Noel is the heart of Mother Esther School. She pours her heart into this work of empowerment because she believes that God has created every single child and intends for them to lead lives of freedom and possibility.
